I got two new guinea pigs a couple months ago and I let them settle in and stuff and I really want to hold them and stuff but they aren't really that people friendly and one of them bites me when I try to pet it through the cage, the other one is alright when I pet it through the cage but if I were to pick her up I feel like she would freak. They are both females, about 2ish years old. Please help.. I don't really know what to do I want to give these guinea pigs the best life I can, and I just am kinda stuck in the don't know what to do stage. Please help.

also it looks as if there nails have never ever been trimmed, so how am i supposed to if i can't pick them up... :(

The only way you can get them used to you is by picking them up. You will need to pick them up every single day. You can hold them under a fleece so they feel safer as they feel they are hiding. It will take time but you have to be very patient. It can help to offer them a nice bit of fruit or vegetable when you have them so they can associate you with something nice.

you need to start picking them up and holding them, its the only way to get them used to you, even if they dont like it at the start :/ give them their vegtables wen they are on your lap, and hold them in a blanket if nessisary.

and trimming their nails can be tricky espesialy if they dont like being handled, i find the best way is to get someone to hold them firmly (but obviously not to hard) just to stop them squirming and then i cut them.. its alot easyer wen someone else is holding them :)
