Ive got one piggie (mocha) who has developed a habit of licking me. She seems to enjoy licking my face :)

Then the other (caramac) seems to enjoy chomping on my finger. She has drawn blood twice now and I know she isn't doing it in a nasty way.

I get the feeling it's more a look at me type bite.

I don't mind the licking but has anyone got any tips to put her off biting?

Cheers

Aww licking is a piggy kiss. My piggy Sophie gives me lots of kisses and tries to bite my nails. I just move my fingers out of her way or squeal to show her I do not like it.

I'm very new to guinea pigs but I've read in Peter Gurney's book that biting can mean "ok, I've had enough now" or "I don't like what you're doing" or even " I need the toilet so put me away"
I also know from reading on this forum that, if it's not hard biting and just a nibble it can be friendly.
I'm sure an experienced owner will be able to help you more..... :)

I thought the licking might be affection.

Caramac doesnt nibble she sniffs and then in one bite seems to really bite down hard. Definately not nibbling, which is a shame. She doesn't do it all the time but as I say she has drawn blood twice now and I'd like her not too lol.

I could try the screeming I guess :o lol
