I have noticed I haven't seen much of Ludo, at first he seemed to be the braver of the two but I only ever seem to see Hoggle out eating (when he thinks I am not there!) - I peeped in their bed (they have a den thing with a roof so I don't see much of them anyway!) and he just lays there next to Hoggle snuggling up.

Do you think he is ok and is just being timid? Hope he isn't unwell. :(

On Saturday I took their bed out so my friend could stroke them and he seemed ok, they just sat there whilst she was stroking them.

Weigh your piggies once a week (at the same time of the day) and you will know! Make the weighing a habit - it can be valueable, in case of illness.

Personally, I think that he will come out later and eat then, but it would be good to have proof.

For the first two weeks, my Taffy was only active at night.

I am so worried now, just want to go home and check on him.

I am certain I caught him eating basil yesterday. I have a feeling Hoggle kind of takes over, even though he is the smaller of the two, maybe he feels a bit threatened. Should be ok once they get their bigger cage.

He won't die will he? :(

We had people round on Saturday, maybe the noise scared him. :(

HMM that's a worry. I am a worrier as I had a guinea that did this and she WAS unwell.

Pick him up and listen to the size of his body just behind the front legs (yes press him gently to your ear) and listen to how the breathing sounds, doe it click or is it wheezy?

Check under the nose for any snot

How are his poops? Could he have eaten too much veg?

If you are worried get him a check up with the vet. Could be nothing but I am always paranoid now after my baby girl.

And don't get my paranoia - like Weibke says he could just be coming out at night. It's changes in behaviour you need to look for rather than just quiet behaviour.

Oh god I am scared now, he is only a little baba.

It is possible he could have ate too much, they wolfed their herb salad down on Sat morning so I replaced it cos I got the feeling they kinda liked it hehe, maybe it was too much.

He didn't seem too scared at first, Hoggle was the shy one. I think Hoggle is trying to be the alpha male.

I will see if my BF can pop home to look, doubt it but it is worth a try.

Do you think I should try and leave work early to see them or am I being silly?

I was running late this morning and didn't get chance to do their veg so I never saw them, I just heard squeaks when I put the light on.

I don't know. He could be absolutely fine and it's a wasted journey and hassle.

How about making a vets appointment for this evening and then if he's okay when you get home cancelling it? That could help you feel better and you have an appointment if you need it.

I have to say these little creatures worry us! I think I am less paranoid myself now after my situation before but only because I know the behaviour of all my guineas well and if they were doing something different i'd know. It's so hard when they are quite new and still a baby.

Likelyhood is he's okay but I wouldn't want to say for sure as I really wouldn't know over the net. Only you can make the call.

I suppose so, yes. With him being new, it is hard to tell, he may just be finding it harder to settle in than Hoggle.

Hoggle is the one who squeaks for England and popcorned at the weekend whereas Ludo may just be timid by nature.

I could be wrong but I am sure I saw them both out eating yesterday, hope so.

I took the afternoon off work, naughty me, came home and they both seem fine. :)

I cut them some veg and Hoggle was popcorning and squeaking when he heard the chopping! :))

They aren't eating at the mo cos they keep seeing me sneaking up, they are both in their bed staring at it though! :(|)

I gave them both a hug and I couldn't really hear any breathing problems.

They're just new and getting used to new surroundings. Some take longer than others!

Mine hid a lot until just recently too. It just takes sometime for them to get used to everything.

Also love the labyrinth reference names.

Thank you! :))

I caught them both eating veg and hay before so I am happy. They were purring when they were about to eat the hay. :(|)

I love the labyrinth names too, they are different and suit their cute little faces. :)
