Please help! I do not know what to do with him he humps and rumbles at Apatche ALL.The time now.He is having to stay by himself.I have tried keeping him away for a night and then put them back together on my bed He still behaved for a few mins.then he started again.I don't know what to do they don't like living along, but i can't but them together in the fear of something happening.
I am on my last nerve with Biscuit i don't know what else to do8....Please help.I love them both.I hate having to seperate them when they used to get along soo well.Apatche still wants to be with someone.I have thought about getting him fixed or getting rid of him.But i don't know anyone to give him to.8.... He is in a smaller cage now.
It is like he don't want Apatche around him at all.The thing about it if you fuss at Biscuit he stops till you turn around then he start again.
If it helps when i got them a year ago i was told that they could not live together because they fought so i kept them seperate a little while and then let them meet each other they loved each other now Biscuit has started this.
Sorry for the long post but i need some help.

I'm sorry to hear that Biscuit and Apatche are not getting along. Have they had an actual fight by drawing blood? Unfortunately, some boars will just not tolerate each other and some just want to be lone pigs. Have you tried to introduce them on neutral territory like a bath tub? Also, have you provided them with 2 of everything e.g. 2 food bowls, water bottles etc? If they do wish to not get on, is there anyway you can have them living in 2 seperate cages and have them side by side so that they can still talk and see one another but not actually get to one another? I'm sorry that I can not help further but I'm sure someone with more experience with boars will be along soon x

someone suggested having that cage split so they are close but not together? gets them to bond again.

what about good old training. like when he does it put him in a bowl with no attention and then if he calms down pick him up and repeat etc?

Mounting and rumbling, while not entirely nice to witness, is normal. Perhaps Biscuit is just trying to re-establish dominance. If you leave them to it, they often sort it out and the behaviour stops, the time to intervene is at the head on teeth chattering, yawning etc stage. If the rumbling doesn't distress Apache, why not leave them for a while? This website should help you out.

It does bother Apatche he wheeks like Biscuit is killing him.He don't knows Biscuit is boss.I have tried picking Biscuit up and putting him some where by himself he goes crazy shreding paper and all then he camls down and i put them back together and he start again.Poor old Apatche acts so glad to have him gone.Apatche will wheek when Biscuit starts rumbling.

I would say that if Apatche is in any kind of distress then may be it best to seperate. Now that they are fully grown, they may not like each other anymore. I have heard stories of people owning 2 brothers who get on fine but then when they have matured, they fall out and never rebond :( I still think that you should try having them live side by side in seperate cages (or even split your existing cage) so they can not get near one another but can still see one another and see how they get on. When my girls are on heat, they are quite nasty to each other and they fall out but they are the best of friends again the following day xx

I moved some stuff around and now i have them beside each other Biscuit in smaller cage. And Biscuit started rumbling and chewing the cage then he started running around his cage like he had lost his mind.

This behaviour should calm down, don't worry. I had two boys who fell out spectacularly badly and caused terrible injuries. When they were separated, one patrolled the divider and tried all he could to get through, but after a day or so, he gave up and it just became the norm.

So apart from the crazy mounting behaviour and clearly really irritating Apatche, has there been a proper fight, really loud teeth chattering, blood drawn? As earlier posted, mounting behaviour is quite normal, especially if they have been moved recently, and although it's painful and a worry for us to watch, they usually sort it out. Are there any females nearby they may have caught a whiff of, or have you handled any other piggies recently, then handled Biscuit and Apatche?

They had not been moved when he started. And yes they had been going at it one night but not to bad so i left them along and went to bed then the next morning Biscuit had a good sore on his nose with a little dried blood. And Biscuit will teeth chatter at him to.

That's a shame. Hopefully things will calm down now that they are separated. It may just be hormones raging away and they will get over it eventually. Don't give up hope yet though, it may be possible to re-bond them in the future :)

Biscuit has calmed down some down.Apatche is talking to him and he want talk.Poor old Apatche.

Try getting them together at laptime, it may help as they often snuggle in together even after a row, but only do it when you feel they are ready. Great that he's calmed down now though :)

It has been going on for about three days and then before that it when on and off so no i don't think it is just a tiff.Biscuit is chewing on the cage again is it going to hurt him.

Also, if he is tugging at the bars with his teeth, just check every so often that he hasn't broken any - a consultation with a good vet should easily sort out a broken tooth, but it needs keeping an eye out just in case. If you continue to be concerned and it shows no sign of letting up, try placing one cage on top of the other. They will still be able to smell and communicate, but should drastically cut down on cage chewing.

Thanks he has calmed down thankfully so hopefully everything will be ok.
