Omg! I'm really upset with my dad.
I like my birthday cake to be a suprise so i let him choose one
so he comes in with a cake with flowers on
something an older person would have, not a teenager.
Saying on it best wishes, instead of happy birthday.
I would of thought my own dad would no i hate flowers.
And that best wishes is if for your moving house.
Its like he dont understand me.
I no hes trying it hard to make it work.
But hes completely thrown in a last minute cake without any thought.
I cant believe he done this and then called me an ungrateful madam.
:'( All he can do is upcast christmas's and birthday and tell me off!

No wonder he is annoyed at you to be honest, as at least he tried to get you a cake and cakes don't come cheap as to him you are being ungrateful.
What sort of cake did you want? If you wanted something in particular you should have just said.

Clare (who has had many rows with her Dad)

aaw Nat, try and not to get upset. I know it's annoying when things go wrong on your birthday, but at the end of the day it's just a cake that you will eat on the day and never see again...it probably tastes yummy :smitten:

Just think of all the nice prezzies he'll get you! He's probably got you something you've always wanted O0

A birthday is meant to be fun, so put it to the back of your mind and have a wonderful day ;)

Hey Nat - no matter what a cake looks like to start with - they all look the same at the end. >:D

Your dad does sound like he is trying. And lets be honest - blokes are useless with taste. He probably thinks that you are getting older & thought he would show that by getting you a more 'grown up' cake. Even if it was 'old granny' in your eyes your dad did get you one. More than my dad did.

Hx

Nat, My dad loves me more than anything in the world but I still get a rubbish garage card on my birthday that doesn't even say daughter on it. he wouldn't even think of getting me a cake. This is just what dads do. He sounds like he is trying and I really think you should try to apologise so there is no bad feeling for your birthday. x

awwww bless- I know when you're younger you want everything perfect for your birthday, but it does sound like your dad was really trying and as someone has already said, all cakes look the same eventually... He probably never thought for one second that much about decoration as he is a bloke, but more about just making sure you had a birthday cake on the day.... Just enjoy your day, a cake is just a cake - just have fun and make sure you're talking to your dad on your actual birthday or you wont enjoy your day as much

/hugs x

I think he just thought if you got a barbie one you would have shouted at him for thinking you are a baby so he tried to get one that showed he knows you are turning into a layyydeee!

He is probably feeling poo about it and he doesnt deserve that surely?

my dad took back the cake and got one with happy birthday on it, i
told him i was sorry. its all good.
and this cake looks yummy! ;D

I agree! I was a bit of an ungratefull poo when i wasyounger and looking back, i cringe! Just try and see it from his point of view, it must be so hard for a dad to work out how to look after a teenage girl these days!

Doesn't that show how much he loves you? You are a very lucky girl to have such a lovely dad! :)

It does sound like he's trying, bless him. And bless you Nat for apologising to him, bet he appreciated that too.

Men dont ever seem to be very good at this kind of thing, tbh, I'm not even sure my OH could you tell you when the childrens birthdays are ::)

He has been telling people its abbies birthday Sunday (its actually tommorow).

The fact is that whether he bought a cake with flowers or a jam swiss roll he did buy you one which obviously means he was thinking of you and he is probably feeling hurt that you reacted the way you did - classic case of crossed wires - give him a hug and tell him its a fab cake!

BTW - H*A*P*P*Y B*I*R*T*H*D*A*Y

He really does love you Natalie :D

Just wondering; are you an only child? Random I know..

i do have an older brother, but he lives with my mum so i guess in a way i am.

at least you got a birthday cake , and it was a nice one in the end.

I haven't had a birthday cake since I was five :)

Your dad clearly loves you. My dad walked out when I was 13 having never purchased a card, prezzie or cake for me! He left the loving to my mum. I wish I had a dad who loved me even at 36 !

It shouldn't matter. Just be grateful you got on hun! :)

My dad's birthday on monday and it's taken me sooooooooo long toi find out what he wants. The pain! So will get it next week as it had to be ordered.
He has a card with Daddy on (LOL) and Grandad from the animals! LOL

Probably get him a Thomas Tank engine cake tomorrow! Why? It's fun! ;D
