It says to add one sachet to 50ml water. Does anyone know whether you can make it up with less water?

My boar has to have half a sachet a day. He is being syringed this amount split into 2 doses during the day but more often than not, spits a lot of it out.

I can carry on the way I am but just thought I'd ask whether there is way of giving less volume. I have heard of people sprinkling the powder in their food but not sure how reliable this is.

Make it up as instructed and just syringe as much as the pig will take. For half a sachet, make up with 25ml water. Over the course of a day, this should be fairly achieveable. (Pig depending, of course. :) )

I use Avipro, and simply make up some more each time when I need it - Out of interest, is there any knowledge as to how long Bio Lapis is "fresh" for after prep?

I know Bio Lapis sachets are not the cheapest way of buying probiotic, but a bigger concern for me would be if the contents break down over a few hours in water if you're trying to use it over a whole day.

I make sure that it's kept in the fridge to stop it from degrading but returned to room temp before given to piggy. I only keep it for 24 hours max.

Was just wondering the same thing as I made up some AviPro! I only keep it 24 hrs max too, in the fridge. But they don't like it cold, so you have to remember to take it out and get it to room temp (fussy pigs!)

I know bless 'them!

You wish you could just tell them it's for their own good don't you?

Thinking of you and your boy Sophie. Hope he starts to pick up soon xx>>>

Thanks!

Sometimes they spit it out if you're trying to give too much in one go - I use a 1 ml syringe and do it quite slowly. Or if they're being a nuisance, I go for the other tactic -all at once! Usually end up wearing it though rolleyes
