my order comes in monday and ill have a4x8ft sheet of coroplast. i have a 5ft long table that fits a 2x4 C&C comfortably or i can make a 2x6 and put it on the floor. I'm making a coroplast only cage and its for two baby males. which choice would be better? i do have a dog she wont hurt them (ive had guinea pigs before) but she may scare them since she would look scary to baby piigies. i cant really keep my dog out but would like as big a cage as possible any suggestions? also what size would you recommend for two males i know the minimum is 2x4 but what works best and more comfortable i could also do a2x5 i may be able to put that on the table but the ends would hang off a little bit?

Bigger is always better! :))
I would say the floor, I have cage on the floor and I have 2 dogs! Bella is a 60 pound boxer and Charlie a 20 pound little bichon-maltese. Mine is a 2x6 with a loft and its very nice.
Bella will put her head in and they'll touch noses. My guinea pigs try to bite Bella when she comes to say hello. My dogs really like to watch the guinea pigs. Bella will sit in front of the cage for hours, she'll sleep by them. I keep the top open, I trust Bella with my life when she's with them. Some people on the forum may disagree though. How big is your dog?

I agree bigger is better, however even with how much you trust your pets guinea pigs are still prey animals. Dogs are predators, so be careful of your decision. Sarah you have a bichion-Maltese? I have a Bichion she's adorable! Sorry off subject. :)

angel is a senior black lab. my mom has a bichon mix! lol. i do wonder if the coroplast is strong enough could i maybe put something under the two ends to hold it off the floor i just thought about it and it may feel to them like I'm coming down on them?

oops :x i stand corrected i just measurred across my table and a2x5 will fit on there a 2x5 c&c would hang off slightly but I'm sure it would be no big deal. i may build a 2x6 but though i trust my girl i really think scaring them wouldnt help if i maybe had some kind of support at both ends i should be able to get away with it hmmmmm.......... I'm sure hershey and fudge would have plenty of room either way seeing as their quite small but they are only babies right now and male piggies get big.

Floor is best I think as it gives you more room to expand. I have a 2x4 but it has 2 floors. You could always make a part roof with some grids and put a throw/blanket over it so they don't feel too exposed
