Bigger Cage, Different Pigs!

This won't be breaking news to anyone but I feel like having a little celebration so I thought I'd post here!

My 2 pigs have been in a 60cm x 120cm cage that I built for them 3 months ago when I got them. I read that those were the minimum requirements and thought I'd start there since I'd never built a cage before.

3 months on and my once-tiny-pigs are not-so-tiny-pigs-anymore. It became apparent that they needed more space (although they were still happy).

Anyway, I've just doubled their cage size and they absolutely love it. They seem so relaxed and happy. They no longer run into their houses when I reach into the cage and one of the pigs just laid down while eating hay, with me sat right next to her. Which I've never seen before. I think I read that more space can help them feel more relaxed?

I'm just super happy for them. Celebrate with me anyone? :)

Congratulations! They are gorgeous :love: It always a great moment when you finally get that extra bit of trust and relaxation around you.... It feels like it will never happen at times. I feel like this with our piggy Chickpea, she is sooooo timid by far the most timid pig ever :)) but it will happen eventually. I am so pleased that your little ones are now chilling out. I bet they love their new home so...... :bronco::clap::bronco:

Haha! Thank you! It's kind of addictive - I'm already thinking about how I can give them even more space!
 
Congratulations! Every little bit makes you feel it's all worthwhile. They will love having more space. Have you posted a pic of your cage?

Couldn’t agree more :) Not yet but I will when it’s completly finished with all bedding matching etc :luv:
 
I must admit though, now that my little piggy keeps chilling out and relaxing everywhere, I’ve keep thinking that there must be something wrong with her! :xd: (She’s behaving normally otherwise though)

Me thinks you're a born worrier, lol. If she's chilling and relaxing she's happy. Make sure she's still eating properly and not showing any signs of pain....I'm sure she's fine though.
