Well I’m here again asking for help unfortunately. My boys went back together after stressed squeaking, teeth chattering and chasing.. only for them to be at it again a few days later. I genuinely don’t know what to do. Do I just rebond them and clean the cage again? :( it hasn’t been as hot as it was the first time so not sure if heat. Trying my best to make it work between them because I only have room for two piggies, and not sure if a divider between them will be good enough. When the divider is in they bite and shake it like it owes them money and rumble at each other through the bars. I don’t think the bond has been broken as there’s no fights or blood being drawn they just can’t be together without screaming the house down at each other. There’s two of everything always and plenty of hay spaced out around the cage. Sorry for long tangent I just don’t know what to do with these moody monsters at the moment :( x

Poor you and poor them. I totally understand why you want them to live together. It’s so sad when bonds break and you have to be sure that there’s no way forward for them. The advice is separate if bloods drawn. How old are they? Could it just be a hormone spike? It’s stressful for them to keep being reintroduced. Maybe try one more time? Hope it works. 🤞

They are 2 and a bit if my memory is right x

It was, they went back together fine after being rebonded on neutral territory and a clean cage. It didn’t even last a week

Hi!

As long as they are no fighting and just bickering, you have to sit it out. It is a nerve-wracking time.
Can you please remind us how old your boys are?

I think they’re 2 and a bit, my memory is very bad, they are either 2 or 3. The last time they were able to get to each other Bruno was trying to throw himself onto ozzy while chasing. They stare at each other screaming until ozzy moves or runs off and Bruno chases him off. It feels like something building up

To update this: I took @Wiebke’s advice and just sat it out, they do eventually calm down but the stressed squeaking/screaming is still a daily thing, happening multiple times before fizzling out. Do I just carry on leaving them to it?

forgot to add the teeth chattering and non stop chasing. Haven’t really been sleeping well because of them doing this :( x

To be honest, it sounds like they won't be fighting but the bond is bordering on dysfunctional.
What you are witnessing is typical medium strength dominance behaviour.

I’ve been thinking that their bond is getting close to that as well :( I keep going back to that thread. Sorry to keep posting about it it’s just driving me mad. Can’t have a normal nights sleep anymore with them screaming at each other and flying around the cage :( x
