Smoo
Teenage Guinea Pig
So I'm having a custom made hutch built for my four girlies and I can't wait until its finished!
They're staying outside this winter (sob!) but they're having a 6ft x 2ft three door hutch on legs with polystyrene insulted walls which will go under cover by the back door next to the shed so I'm hoping that it'll be quite sheltered for them and I'll be able to see them from the house which is a bonus!
I'm also getting them a couple of heat pads for the cold nights and I've seen a hutch hugger on eBay which I'll buy when I get the hutch so I can measure it to make sure it will definitely fit. I've got two off cuts of vet bed which i currently use to cover them at night time so hopefully with the insulated walls, heat pads, vet bed then hutch hugger it'll be warm enough for them
I'm looking at paint now because the base will be wooden I want to varnish it then line with linoleum so it stays dry. I've heard Ronseal is animal friendly? I've used Cuprinol shades in their current hutch and had no problems but I'd like something a little more watertight as all my scrubbing while cleaning has lifted away most of the paint.
I can't wait until I get it, I'll make sure to post pictures when it's arrived! So excited! |)
