As you know Blacky has been neutered and now nearly ready to be reunited with his mum, sister and auntie. He is so lonely and desperate to be back with them. What's the best way to reunite? They know each other as he's been next to them and able to smell, see and hear each other.

Shall I just pop him in their cage and see how it goes?

Or should it be on neutral territory?

When i introduced Yorkie to the herd after he had been neutered he was in a cage in the same room initially for his 6 weeks post op wait. I then sectioned off the C&C so that they could get to know each other through the bars for a good week before i then put them all in together. I set the outdoor run up in the living room to do first introductions as it was on neutral ground. Once they had gotten to know each other i put them back in the C&C alltogether. Good luck i am sure it will go fine xx

If you can, introduce them on the lawn. Have Blacky next to the girls' run at first and then gauge the interest before you let him join them.

Otherwise, any neutral area in the house with a wipeable floor that hasn't got any crannies piggies can get into will do. Make sure that all hides have two exits (so the girls can escape the attentions). if you put food down, use a big flat plate so it can't go flying in case a chase goes right through it and all piggies can access it!

With girls, acceptance usually happens right at the beginning. Any girl that lets him mount her has accepted Blacky. You need to worry about mutual tooth chattering/scuffles and girls who won't let him near them. Young boars can often go a bit overboard, and they can generate loads of testosterone laden pee which they spray generously everywhere, especially over the girls. Better have the windows open! Don;t bathe them afterwards - the smell is part of the bonding process. You will notice that the first few seasons of the girls will be much more pronounced as their bodies react to the resence of a boar.

Best of luck! Things should hopefully go well if they have bmet and been in contact through mesh.

Thanks so much. Really hoping they get on after all the months of separation! So excited to see how it goes :)

I am just completing a c&c set up which will house all 4. Just thinking, if I put them all in their new home for the first time at the same time, that will be new territory and they can explore their new home together. Sound like a good plan?

It is a plan; just make sure that the setup allows all girls to escape easily from any lofts (or block those up if necessary) until the dust has somewhat settled.

I also find it very helpful having the piggies right next to each other at first and only staging the intro when all the signs are positive, i.e. no interest from both sides and no negative input. Because once you have committed, you need to go through with it unless there are fights.

Try to introduce them all seperately.
E.g the male piggy and girl A

Male and girl B
Male and girl A and B....
