What's the best temp to bake Chocks wooden rabbit house at to kill off germs with out setting fire to it?
Thanks...

What exactly are you trying to kill off?
Are you talking about insects, bacteria, spores, viruses, etc?
Has Chock been ill?

Heat isn't always the best thing to use, particularly with wood.
Freezing, or a decent disinfectant and a day or two drying in the sunshine might work better, depending on the reason for disinfection in the first place.

I live in Germany, and the vast majority of people here have wooden cages with wooden hideys, so there is quite a bit of info on disinfecting wood. Anything that can fit in the oven can be "cooked" at 120C for 60 minutes apparently. That seems to be the standard advice. If you don't want to try that, the alternative used on larger objects that won't fit in the oven, is to steam clean them. The steam cleaner has to be held really close to make sure the steam is still 100C, and it can't be done fast - you have to cover every centimetre thoroughly. Then you allow time to dry out completely, preferably in the sun, which also helps to disinfect.

I don't know about the cooking but I would soak it in a bucket or similar of diluted F10 solution for a couple of hours then leave it to dry out.

I can understand doing this with wood. Certain wooden toys I have purchased for hamsters in the past had woodworm holes in them, and a forum member on another site not Guinea pig related informed everyone that a wooden toy she had purchased had live woodworm in it.

Now I am very careful purchasing wooden toys.
