Hi Guys

I'm sure by now you are aware of my situation with Bert the baby piggy that hates all piggys!

We have decided to build a C&c Next to my other c&c so he gets some interaction with the other 2, with out a big fight happening. Just wondering what the best size should be. I am thinking something along the lines of 2x3 or 4. the same size roughly as my other cage but having to work in some triangles around the desk leg.

And yes well aware that piggys should not be kept on their own but this little guy HATES other piggys. We don't want to run the risk of getting a baby boar to go in with him and then having to separate, and we are thinking of getting him a sow when he is older after he has been neutered.

A 2 x 3 would be fine for a single piggy. Piggies can be kept on their own in some cases; until recently (one's passed away) i had 2 boars who lived side by side since being separated in 2006; both were happy :)

Yeah a 2x3 or 4 if you have the room is fine and I would agree that under some circumstances it is in the best interests of the guinea to keep them on their own. Especially if they are piggy aggressive, some just are. Keeping them next to each other means they still smell and hear other piggies without having to share space with them and can often keep them very happy.

Wait and see how he reacts to this hun. Good luck with it x

I understand your situation and agree that as long as he isn't the only guinea in the house, it's fine for him (and every other pig!) that he be kept alone.

I also agree with 2x3, and I do not believe I would advise any bigger than a 2x4. 2 piggies in a 2x4 looks quite small, but with just one pig in a 2x4 it looks huge.

I think side by side is perfect... A sow could make your boys fallout if you get bert one and they are living side by side... if they smell her! Just thought I would mention... but then again thats opened to dispute some people do have males and females in the same rooms others don't :).
