I’m looking to buy some vet bed for my special needs long term foster piggy Angel.
Where does everybody buy theirs and is there a difference in quality?

I have bought vetbed from eBay. Bill and Ted have this in their bedroom area and it’s stays lovely and dry 😀

Is there a difference between vet bed and vet fleece? Is one better than the other?

I get mine on ebay. I like the thicker one, I found the think kept creeping up the cage, although it does take up less room in the washing machine! The last I bought came from these people and I would use them again, lovely quality green back.

Thanks everyone.

I will let you know how I get on. I have spent hours looking into this and finally I have ordered some vetfleece from Amazon. Green backed not the rubber backed one. I’ve ordered a small roll as this worked out better value than 2 pre cut pieces as I will need one for clean and one in the wash. I will cut 2 base liners from it and with the leftovers we can make bedding squares to go under the houses for other piggies in the rescue.

There is an excellent explanation here @VickiA

I have no experience with this particular seller, but felt they explained it well.

I used it a lot when I had older dogs and although expensive it is well worth the money with older animals.
Washes well and lasts for ages.

The difference is the price !Vetbed is the trade name of the first original vetbed, petlife sells this,it is more expensive and not necasarily better.vet fleece is just a trade name of there fleece bedding.there are others !ensure its gsm pile density is between 1200 and 1500 !green backed version can be washed at high temparetures, and the nonslip at 40 degrees due to rubber backing !i obviously spend too much time reading ! i hope you likeyour new vetbed !🙂

I’d gone goggle eyed looking at types, prices etc. It was really helpful to hear people’s comments. EBay has many different sellers all claiming to sell genuine stuff, but many looked flimsy and I’d realised there was a weight differential. The quality ones are considerably more expensive but the reviews look worth it (wash at high temps and it will last for years).

Anyhow, Angel is what matters here. The little special needs lady walks heavily on her lower legs rather than feet so if it helps relieve pressure for her it is worth getting her the denser, more supportive fleece.

It certainly helps Spike @VickiA so I am sure Angel will be comfortable on it too. We didn't realise Spike had a problem until last year when I switched to fleece liners due to the number of wash loads we were having a week. After a week on the liners he was bunny hopping, a trip to the vet confirmed slight arthritis. I put him and Peanut back on vetbed and after a week of metacam he has been fine. He is on a close watch and will probably end up on metacam for the rest of his life, but at the moment he's not got any worse and bumbles around like the aging boar he is.

It’s great for piggies with leg problems and also piggies who love to pee in their sleep (my Ted sleeps a little too soundly sometimes!)
Yes, Caspy too. Yellow legs and belly is not a good look for an almost all white piggy!
