Hey everyone, just curious which hay racks people use? I couldn't find one whilst shopping today that I was satisfied with, so thought I would consult you all first. :)

I put hay in a pile as mine like to play in it as well as eat it.

Yeah I also have it in a pile one end of the cage :) They enjoy playing in it, but wondering about having some in a rack so they don't pee in it as much.

I made one by putting a C&C grid across the corner of my setup which allows me to cram in plenty of hay then the ladies never run out :)

You can see them in the pic below:10849811_10154901732320363_3062572876768991218_n.webp

i'm not a fan of hayracks personally. but some of the people who make fleecy items make haybags now. like a hay rack but safer i think :) i have a large garden potting tray for the main lot of hay, and then put more on a plate and in kitchen roll tube cut down the middle :)

ooh, good idea :) traditional hayracks always look potentially dangerous to me. but then i am an over-worrier!

My girls eat tonnes of hay and some days I can be out of the house for a long time so I needed to make sure they had enough hay and didn't run out before I got home. They never do with this :)

Yes the hay racks I saw didn't seem overly safe to me, which is why I didn't purchase them. I may look into getting a fabric one or designing my own with grids. These sound like the safest ideas so far. :) Thank you!

My girls have a bent hay rack made from c&c grids joined together.
They also have a big pile on the floor.

Yes I remember that, it was awful.Thats what has made me so worried about which, if I had one, I would get. I've never used a the veggie balls and don't plan to. I may go with a fleece type with a litter tray. At least then any they go to the toilet on it, its really easy to just tip away and change.

Thank you for the links.

Of course there is still the option of just putting it on the floor or litter tray. At least you have piece of mind then. :)
