I have moved house recently and would like to upgrade my guinea pig cage. I currently have two girls in a 2x5 c&c cage but now there is room for a 4x4 cage or a 3x5 cage. I’m not sure which option is best, but I can imagine the 3x5 being awkward when it comes to cage liners and the 4x4 would probably be harder to clean.

A 3x4 cage would also be an upgrade to the 2x5 I have now but if I have the room to go even bigger then I feel like I should.

Which type of setup do pigs usually prefer? Wider or longer cages? & if you have either of these how practical are they?

I extended a 2x 5 C&C cage with an L shaped 3x2.
It fits the room best and all the piggies seem to like it.
I have 4 living in the cage.
It’s difficult to get a photo of the whole cage but pic attached

It looks great!
Can’t believe I didn’t consider that 🙄. It’s obviously much easier to extend the current cage than create a new one. Thanks
