Hi All!

I wanted to pick your brains about the best age for neutering.. Keith is coming up 7 months old, and we would like to get him neutered while he is young/before anything happens to Gibson. This is to allow him to potentially live with a herd when that awful time comes that Gibson is no longer with us.

I'll get it done (or him done!) at the Cat and Rabbit Clinic.

Any recommendations on when might be a good age? Happy to listen to advice/opinions/experiences!

Thank you :)

Neutering can be done once the testicles descend which is somewhere between 4 and 6 months of age. So provided he is otherwise healthy, he can be neutered now

Hi!

Keith is a perfect age for neutering now. ;)

Have a look at our comprehensive neutering guide; the 'normal recovery' example in the last chapter is my Nye, who was neutered by Simon aged 6 months: Neutered / De-sexed Boars And Neutering Operations: Myths, Facts and Post-op Care
