Hi
We sadly lost one of our piggies last weekend which has left Peanut alone. We want to find her some company but wondered what age piggie would be best for her to be with? Peanut is just over 3 and a half & is very docile. We tried bonding her with 2 girls who are a year old but they were both very aggressive and kept attacking Peanut. This stressed her out and she went into hiding. We got them from a rescue centre and they have thankfully taken them back (although it was a very hard decision to make). We wondered if younger piggies are best as she will mother them, but at the same time we don't them being much of a handful for her! Any help and advice would be gratefully received, thankyou 😃

I’m sorry for your loss.

Any bonding comes down to character compatibility rather than age. It’s really a case of keeping trying until you find one with whom she is compatible. A younger piggy can be successful though.
Bonding a single piggy with an already bonded pair is the bonding which is most likely to have problems (it doesn’t sound like the pair wanted her to join them).

Also, do consider bonding her with a neutered boar. Cross gender bondings are often most successful

Thank you so much and thank you for your help and advice.

We hadn't thought of bonding her with a neutered boar, definitely something to consider although she has never been with a boar before.

We will keep trying as we don't want to leave her on for too long!

Thank you again 😃
