Junior Guinea Pig
Hi all!
About a week ago, we lost our sweet Cory. He was confident, friendly, and fearless. His brother Trevor, however, is significantly more shy & for the past 2 days, has been hiding in the hay box at the back of the cage.
He genuinely seems terrified of the rest of the cage; I can lure him out a little bit with some critical care, but he walks very slowly/low to the ground and sprints back to the hay box once he’s done eating.
I’m not sure if one of our cats potentially scared him (he’s never been a fan of them, but did better when Cory was around), or if it’s that he’s grieving, or a bit of both. I would leave him alone and just put the resources he needs close to the hay box, but unfortunately, I have to take him out 2x/day to give him eyedrops for his conjunctivitis.
Anyone have tips on what to do until we can get him a friend? He finishes his meds on Friday, but I feel so sad seeing him this way
Thanks as always!
