Is it literally to keep hay and poop in?

My pigs are in a c and c. I want to switch to fleece, I think it would be easier and neater to just have a correx floor.

I have a hard wood floor so sweeping up would be simple, but want to check people don't use trays for some other safety reason? I'm still new to the pig keeping!

When I had c&c I had a correx floor but used a couple of cat litter trays for hay. I found it kept a lot of the mess on a more absorbent and easily changed bedding (I used wood shavings and could just pick up the tray, tip it in the bin, clean and refill it as needed).

My lot use thwir 3 hay trays to do most of their wees. Saves changing the liners so often. Poos are mainly under their beds where they go to rest between meals!

Can I ask what type of cat litter trays you use? I have been trying to find something similar myself which is shallow enough so they can jump in, but deep enough to fill with wood shavings or similar and a quantity of hay.

Not sure If your in the uk or not but Asda have some good trays for about £1.50 that are shallow, my gang easily climb in and out of them :)

I think these are the ones I ordered many years ago Whitefurze Plastic Large Cat Litter Tray (From 4 Colours)

I get mine from pound shop because they can get a bit yucky. My piggies Wee & Poo in there, then they lay in there, & eat the hay they are disgusting. Lol
Also l find it makes no difference to the Wee & Poo on the fleece.
However they love Their tray.

I have the large sized cat carrier in my pen with a folded puppy pad, topped with vetbed, filled with hay.

They like it being covered and do a lot of their wees and poops in there.

Hi, yes in the UK and have a massive ASDA just down the road - so i'll have a look at their trays, is it cat litter trays or some other type of tray you use?

Thank you

i use the bob martin trays from asda as they are not so deep and the older piggies manage to get in and out.of these cat litter trays.

I get my litter trays from the range. They do some cat litter trays that are quite shallow so they can easily get in out. I think they’re £1.99 each.
