Bending grids

Do you bend them along the side with the little dot or the smooth side?
And to you bend it towards you or away from you?

i bend mine down over my knee, whatever the easiest way is. X

I got it after all, thanks
My OH told me that if you bend it on the side with the welded bit on it it might snap so I just bent it on the other side. Simples really, some people just have more common sense than others haha
