ben is around 3 months now, hes an only pig as jerry is no longer with us, ben used to be quiet chilled out n loved to sit on your lap and have a fuss, but 2 adys ago he bit my daughtr whenhe wa on her lap and when i picked him up he bit me too, now hes always been a nibbler he nibbles everythink in site, but this was a proppa bite to the point he drew blood on us both, this morning he has been running round when my daugter picked him up hes bitten again, iv always shown her how to pick him up, n shes really gentle with him, so there is no reason he should be biting, has anybody ekse had this problem or know what might be wrong with him?

hmmmm I'm not sure.

My Dillon is 4 months and always nibbles everything.

Maybe Ben is lonely? Are you getting him a friend?

Does Ben seem sore when you stroke him...maybe thats why he has bitten....I think is is scurvy that can lead to painful skin or fungal any signs of this?

Have him checked/treated for mites - the pain and discomfort can make piggies suddenly change their behaviour when being handled.

Generally, it would be great if you considered finding him a friend, either a baby boar or - after he has been neutered by an experienced vet - a young sow. That will make him happiest as he is missing out on round the clock company. Guinea pigs are herd animals. If you could take him for some "boar dating" at a rescue, you would be able to respect his wishes in terms of a companion and have the added suport of the rescue people during the settling period.

I'm going to get him a gf when he has been done but they said its best to wait another month till i have him done as he is not overly big. he has no signs of fungal skin things iv checked him all over, is there nythink i can buy from a shop to treat him just incase?

My Alfie bit me on Wednesday and cut my finger he's also been a nibbler too and I couldn't understand why he'd had a good chomp on my finger.
He hasn't got mites or any other problems and he shares a hutch with his buddy Albie.
Sometimes I think he's just tempremental cos he'll start on Albie then run off and hide.
