hi I have just adopted a male Guinea pig think he could be around two, seemed very lonely so got a baby boar to go with him. He seems more happy more vocal, only thing I have noticed tries to mate with baby. Is this normal ?
Have also noticed after doing this there is bright red blood only little, not sure where it is coming from. Could anyone help.

Welcome to the forum, the humping is normal, it is just mounting and a sign of dominance, have a read of this thread Dominance Behaviours In Guinea Pigs
The blood however is not normal and needs further investigation, can you check them over for cuts etc... any idea which one is bleeding and where from?

Could you add your location to your profile also? Thanks

Nips can happen, check edges of the ears or on face near nose. They are often targets on face-to-face confrontations. Full on fights are far more serious, thick towels or oven gloves are handy to separate fighters! Occasional nips during dominance establishment should always be checked out. You don't want infection setting in. Hope they settle down soon for you.
