Hi I had a quick question I was looking to get answered. What does it mean when a Guinea pig spikes up his hair? He does it often when I go to pet him and makes a noise. It’s rumblestruting but I’ve never seen his hair stand up.

In that context it can be because he doesn’t want to be touched. It’s listed a hostile encounter on the guide of behaviours I’ve linked in here ie they don’t like it.
Or hair puffing up can also be because of pain
