In my Guinea Pig's shed mainly! LOL
Hi,

I feed my Guinea Pig's Burgess Excel Guinea Pig, and I've had no problems with it - it's great in every aspect!

Until recently, I read on this forum that it is bad because it has (unmolassed) Beet Pulp in it, that is dangerous to animals.

Now I'm really confused - will somebody please set me straight? I don't understand why they would put beet pulp in the food, if it is dangerous. Or is only dangerous to a certain extent?
I haven't heard any horror stories about the food, but I would like to get my facts straight.

Also, I checked out the review page, but no one mentioned it on there. :{

Thank you guys! xx>>> xx

I've never tried it so can't comment, I would also wonder why they would put something in it thats dangerous to the animals though

I myself am thinking of switching to Burgees, my vet highly recommends them. And i take his word as he knows his Piggies! So i really wouldn't be too worried. It is a vet recommended food, maybe if it is over fed then yes it maybe dangerous but i think that goes for everything else.
If you genuinely do have concerns contact your vet but i am sure they wouldn't be allowed to sell anything if it is remotely dangerous for any animal!

Plus they would let you know if something was wrong or if they didn't like it!

Sorry i couldn't be anymore help! x

I honestly wouldn't be worried! But ease your mind and phone your vet, sure! But if they aren't showing any signs of being ill then don't let it trouble you! x

It is really good, but like I said, it's just this issue that someone brought up to me, but I've never heard of it before she said. :{
Hmm.. I think I'll keep them on the food, as it is the best one around! And to be honest, I don't see why vet's would recommend it if it was dangerous/life threatening. :p

Thanks for your help. :)) x

perhap you could contact burgess, they're good at replying as I've contacted them before x
