Teenage Guinea Pig
Hello
My piggies are outdoor pigs at the moment since it's summer. I'm planning to overhaul their bedroom in their hutch and am after some advice! Currently they're being bedded on newspaper and hay but it's wasting so much hay that it's a bit ridiculous! Not to mention hay here is expensive.
I was thinking of putting vetbed in the bedroom with some cozies for them to snuggle in and keep warm, or they can just flake out on the vetbed, whatever takes their fancy. So my questions are:
-Does this sound like a good idea? Any better suggestions from past experience?
-My 2 boars are quite happily bonded. They've lived together around 9 months with no signs of grumpiness and they're both over 2 years of age. Do I still need to make sure the cozies have 2 entry points, or have they gotten past the teenage-working-out-the-hierachy-stage and I can just get them normal snuggle sack things?
-What to do with the hay? I'm guessing I'll have to put it downstairs in a hay rack of some description. Their veggies just get scattered on the lawn, but hesitant to have too much hay blowing around the yard.
-Unrelated, but does anyone know where to get the outdoor type ramps for double story hutches? They're using the ramp from their old house as it's not as steep, but I'd like to replace the ramp and sell the old hutch.
I've attached a picture of their hutch. I look forward to some advice!
