sorry if there has been something about this before but just wondering what bedding you use and if you have anything different please say

woodshavings and safe pet bedding thats like tissue cloth stuff ^_^

i use woodshavings and shredded paper now and it works great, i did used to use just newspaper and shredded paper or hay but it got smelly even with lots of cleaning

thanks Mary and Daz! nice to hear what everyone thinks!

I just have newspaper and shredded paper... I usedto have wood shavings but they can cause respiritory probs so I stoppedseing them... and I cant have hay in the house as it will draw all theyucky bugs inside! :(

I put the shavings under a thick layer of paper then hay on top of the paper. I do it this way and the shavings are well away from the piggies.

Shavings make my lot sneeze, so I changed to newspaper and hay, then I got Candy (long haired) and Abbie (who could wee for England!) and hay wasn't absorbant enough. So now I use Aubiose.

I chose 'other' I am using aubiose which is a hemp bedding I get from my local farm supplier. There is a review of it and other beddings in the sticky part of this board :)

thanks, its been interesting to see what you all use! its interesting!

I was using carefresh but its pricey. I've just started using vetbed and I'm quite happy with it. I'm sweeping up poops every day and plan to wash the vetbed once a week. Bailey seems to like it, he's always laying down and napping on it.

at the minute i use a layer of newspaper with a product called snowflake softchip on top (similar to aubiose but cheaper ) and when i have it shredded paper on top of that .

thanks, if i get guinea pigs i will probably do what Niki does, a layer of newspaper and then fleece OR vetbed, i havent decided yet!

I use newspaper and russell rabbit bedding and hang hay up in hay balls for them to eat. I've used vetbed but found the washing to be too time consuming for me, so now I only use it on the loft area where they don't pee

For the outside piggies I use newspaper, shavings, a layer of russell rabbit then hay in their bed area

Fleece is cheaper than vetbed so i will probably only use vet bed in the top bit!

The wood shavings I use have had all the dust extracted from them, don't know why none of you can get hold of that, I buy it fom a garden centre, not cheap, gone up to £11 a bag, it lasts about 5 weeks.

I use Newspaper, Woodshavings and hay, the woodshavings are just in the corners and the hay covers the whole floor of the cage.

I did try Fleece but it got so messy so quickly I couldn't stand it!
xx

I use flax which looks a bit like aubiose. You can buy it from horse feed suppliers.

I use thick layer of newspaper, Auboise at the moment and topped with lots of nommy hay. I alternate between Auboise and Megazorb.

Megazorb is easier IMO to clean out, Auboise is better value for money. Depends what mood I'm in when I go to the farm shop really!
