i got a question and hope someone can give me an answer at the moment the girls have newspaper then shavings then straw and i have been reading all your comment on this and realised its not good for them so i have decided to change so went and got some megazorb today and going to use that insted of the shavings But if i put hay in there bedding insted of straw they just seem to eat it all up then they are just left on the shavings/megazorb then they will have nothing to keep them warm and they will get cold hope you can understand what i mean and i have not gone on and lost you all LOL
cheers to anyone who leaves a comment.

Are piggys kept indoors or outdoors? Mine are indoors and use megazorb and newspaper in there cage and hay. I just put a pile of hay in the middle of the cage and two toliet rolls filled with hay either side of the pile of hay. Mine also have a little cosy bed each and sometimes lie on the hay. I wouldnt worry about bedding if they are indoors as they are most probable warm anyway. If they are outdoors then I would just pile up the hay so they are snug.
Ive only just started using megazorb as I did use carefresh but it was so expensive, I love megazorb and its working really well for me and my piggys.

Hi there sorry i should have put they are outdoors and cant bring them in either no space i will try putting lots of hay in see how the go with that i just dont want them getting cold.:)

Hi there! Ive tried most beddings for my guinea pigs and have found that Easibed is about the best. It is absorbent and smells of pine. I put newspaper on the cage floor, then a layer of Easibed. A seed tray at one end of the cage again with newspaper, Easibed and hay, acts as a cosy bed. At the moment I am paying about £8 for a hay bale sized bag of Easibed. For outdoor gp's you could put a cardboard box on its side stuffed with hay for them to go into for extra warmth. Hope these suggestions are of help.

hi there thank you for the comment and i will take your ideas on board i might line the inside of the bed bit with cardboard like you say and give that a try see how they go cheers kelly-ann.
