Hello

Just interested to find out what you all use as bedding for your piggies to give me a few ideas please?

Thanks, Kerry x

I started with wood shavings, moved onto fleece. Next was aubiose (loved it but couldn’t work long term) and snowflake softchip. And I’m back to fleece again 😁 it’s cheaper (in the long run) and I find it easier to maintain. There was a lot of waste with disposable bedding, especially on clean out days (generally Thursdays in readiness for Friday bin collection). The only waste I generate now is the hay and puppy pads from their upstairs. They love it and do the majority of their no 1s up there. No 2s are easy to clean out and they do them downstairs too but that’s piggies for you 😍

Used to use woodchip and hay, but got through SO much hay that way ( as always liked to put a really thick layer! Now I use a waterproof base, towels and then fleece, which my girls love, I change this once a week, but sweep it twice a day. Also have large hay tray and a corner toilet, where they do most of their wees. don't think I would go back to just hay now!.

I use fleece alone, I have used woodshavings for many years and I got sick to death of loose bedding going everywhere. Fleece is an absolute blessing and joy to use.

Hello! I have two guinea pigs who currently are using wood shavings! I want to change to fleece hopefully! How often do you wash their fleece and is there a substitute to fleece (apart from wood shavings)? Thank you 🐹
