Hi everyone, I have recently become the owner of 2 male piggies and have been using the woodshavings from Pets at home to line their home, but I have been looking at forum members piccies of their piggies homes and a lot of people seem to use fleeces. I would really like to try this out as I think it looks so much nicer and the shavings are so messy, but would it be too early to change the bedding over to fleece as I have only had the piggies a week.

I don't see why not, I changed my adoptee piggie straight away from wood shaving to hemp bedding. There are pros and cons to all beddings, it's what suits both you and your piglets.

Fleece is more maintenance though. I have a second level which is fleece and so if my girls want a softer place to snooze they can race up the ramp and doze off in pure comfort.

Unlike food, changing bedding doesn't have any form of side effects or health implications, the only effect may be that they'll be even more happy.

After changing my piggies from sawdust to fleece, they were so happy it was crazy and it probably is the best change i've ever made !
Just beware it's alot of maintenance compared to wood shavings, daily sweeping and changes every 3 days etc.

Ive just switched to fleece and got to say I am glad I did. It's not perfect but its so much easier to roll up the fleece shake it out outside and bung in the washer.

I use newspaper and towels then fleece.
