Hello, can I ask for outdoor piggys what bedding do you use that makes your piggys feel safe and snug? The reason what I ask is because my piggys are indoors at the moment but they will be moving outside in the spring into a hutch with a large run. I don't want to use fleece, just a personal choice really so at the moment they are bedded on comfy bed and then lots of hay. The thing is I have very rarely seen my piggys completely flop out on the hay like your piggys do on fleece and just wondered what other alternative I could use? I am wondering whether to buy some squbees or a cosy pig loo but just wondered how many I would need to buy and would these need to be washed daily.

Thank you for reading

I think some piggies are just more floppy than others! Mine flop out on hay all the time.

I would say if you are happy with your current bedding keep using that and just get a nice cozy for them to cwtch up in at night.

Hi There

We have kept our piggies outside since the Autumn last year and even though we've had snow and freezing conditions they are snug. We use newspaper as a bottom layer covered by wood chippings. We then put hay in their bedroom area along with a toilet roll filled one in the main. They don't seem to have any issues with this type of bedding.

We also covered them with tarpaulin for the winter and cover the hutch up overnight if the temperature drops. They don't seem to have any issues with this but we're looking to buy a bigger hutch for them as they need some more room to run around. We bring them in for cleaning and running around and we have a large indoor hutch we use uncovered. In that we have a fleece.
