Bedding - Good?

As far as I know cat litter is not meant to be good for small animals but I don't know about this one. The one I use for my cat is like small rocks and is probably kind of a weird feeling on her paws and cat litter is cat litter, right?

I used wood based cat litter in litter trays I cover it with hay as it would be too hard on their feet. I have never had a problem. This is expensive though I paid £2.79 for 15litres at home bargains they do usually sell it at b and m too

I would not use this. Fleece or vetbed is ideal as it is hypoallergenic and soft so will not cause bumblefoot.

i was gonna just use it in the litter trays but on their website they have a couple of photos of guineas using it as full bedding..... It also says on the website and on the pack that it is suitable for rabbits, poultry and reptiles!

I have used wood pellets in my whole cage with small fleece pads for my pigs to sleep on. It works really well for odor control. I stopped using it because it's extremely heavy. Filling two 2x7 cages takes 120lbs. of pellets.

How deep do you put this & how long between changes?

I use Auboise or Hemcore which I put to depth of about 12 to 15mm & change it weekly.

About 1 to 1 1/2 inch. Lasts 2 weeks between changes.
There are still lots of unused pellets left after 2 weeks, but the cage was too messy by the time.
If you use it under fleece, it could go longer.

Thanks, it sounds worth trying as I would put a layer of hay on top. I checked B&M's website but it's not listed so have sent a query to them. At £6 it's worth it but direct inc. delivery t £13.75 sounds expensive. I've found that Millbry Hill at Richmond, North Yorks sells 30 Ltr bags for £8.99. I pass there every 2 weeks so may give it a try if none of the discount stores sell it cheaper

I used wood based litter in my rabbits litter tray before moving to paper based pellets from finacard, they didnt touch it other than to poop on :-) I have used it for the pigs litter trays too when using fleece I do prefer the paper based pellets though.

Can I just say B&M do not sell this product they sell a cat litter by snowflake at 99p for 5 litre bags. Also homebargains sell same cat litter and they have it in 15 LT bags for 2.79 or small bags 5 LT for 99p

I would personally use paper pellets since Quinn enjoys eating the wood pellets...but that's just him!
