One of my guinea's has quite
Long hair and a constant wet bottom. Looking at the threads I realised she needed a haircut (which I have just done - phew need a lie down after that one!) But I am building her a c&c cage. I have made the liners and piddle pads as I am moving away from sawdust) But should I also have a boxed area of hay for her to piddle in or could I use something more absorbent - in the vague hope she might piddle in there and keep a bit dryer. Thanks for the continued help! Cheers

I have aubiouse in my litter trays a add I have a texel and a sheltie.Sense to work great for them. The aubiouse draws the moisture down to the bottom so the top stays dry.

I have only just got my 2 boys which are both long haired. One is very fluffy and I use a product called easi-bed for them with hay on top of the bedding area. It sounds like the aubiouse that madguinealady has mentioned as it draws moisture to the bottom but this doesn't seem to stick to the hair either. We got it in a huge bale from farm and pet and think it was about £6 or £7.

My boys are all short-haired, but my little old man has long-term bladder issues, so they are all kept on vetbed as it stays completely dry on the surface and all the urine wicks through.

I had lots of problems with one of my long haired piggies. She tends to pee and sleep in the same place :/ I tried vetbed with a puppy pad underneath and it's worked a treat. No wet bottoms since I've been using it.
