Junior Guinea Pig
Looking for suggestions for the bedding section of my hay boxes. The rest of the enclosure is fleece, but I find containing the hay to 2x1 litter boxes - I use these ones (Little Diner Small Cavy Kitchen – Cage Creations) works best for me in keeping the cages clean. I have 2 in my herd's cage and 1 in my boy's cage and clean them out 2x a week.
I currently use a layer of megazorb under the hay but find it to be rather dusty and I think it's irritating my pigs (I've had 3 at the vet with wheezing & slightly harsh lung sounds this month). I've used wood shavings & aubiose before but one of my pigs has sensitive skin and they both irritated it. I have had success in the past with the small pet select paper bedding but it's rather expensive! I've seen quite a few wood-chip like suggestions but worry they would also irritate his skin. Just wondering what everyone else uses? Thanks.
