Hello,

I'd like some advice on bedding. I've had pigs before, when I was a child, and they were housed in the then traditional hutch with wood shavings. This is not a route I want to take now and I'm have a shed made for them so they will have about 7 x 4 foot of space, plus outside time when they can be supervised & the weather is appropriate and indoor time in the evenings.

There seems to be a mind boggling choice of bedding available now and I was wondering if anyone had experience of bedding in this large-housing situation? Cost will probably be a factor with such a large space to cover.

I have read a bit about megazorb / carefresh and they both seems to have pros and cons and also the various cardboard options.

The shed will be lined with vinal for easier cleaning out/ washing down.

Fleece/ towels / vet bed are not an option for us due to the washing element.

Any advice and experience welcome!

Hi and :wel:!

I second what has been said above.

If you are looking for an even cheaper option easibed is sold at £7 for 20kgs at my supplier near Farnham Surrey. I find easibed cheaper, more absorbant and softer than aubiose. Easibed also has bigger pieces.

I hope this helps! :)

thank you very much @Maisy and Poppy and @PiggyOwner . I'll take a look at Aubiose and Easibed.

Maisy and Poppy, may I ask who your equine supplier is? My locals do not seem to stock Easibed but one does sell Easybed? Farnham isn't too far away from me...
