baytril is an antibiotic which should be used with a probiotic. sadly here in south australia baytril is not used for piggies they like to use terramycin injections :tickedoff:. sending hugs :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

I've had plenty of piggies on Baytril over the years and they've all been fine on it, but you must use a probiotic at the same time. My vet gives me Avipro, a powder you mix with water and feed by syringe. They seem to like it!

Shite my vet hasn't gave me any probiaitic and this is Pippins 2nd course! :(

Ermmm is to late now as she finished her 2nd course tomorrow but what happens if a probiotic is not used with it? :-\

I had this for Rosie when she had....and still does have.... her wonky head, its orally given O0

Don't panic if you haven't been given a probiotic - it's advisable but not absolutely essential, just helps their little tummies cope with the antibiotic.
If they've finished the course of antibiotics just carry on as normal and I'm sure they'll be fine.

For future reference, my vet said you can get Avipro from the chemists as it's what they give babies.
