Hey so I'm new here and I don't know who should I ask this so imma just go for it and ask it here!
Can I wash my cavy with a human's dry shampoo?!
It'd be great if someone helps me w this ASAP!

I don't know the official answer, but instinctively I'd be wary. I'd be concerned that some of the chemicals would get left behind in their coats and could then be inhaled or ingested during grooming.

no pls don't use any human product on a piggie. :yikes: They clean themselves and would if any product not thoroughly rinced could harm them internally. good advise on here which I learned from.

Hi!

Sorry, no! You can't. Too many chemicals for a small animal like a guinea pig and not the skin ph, either.

Why do you need to bathe your piggy urgently? In most cases a gentle bum bath with plain baby warm water is sufficient.

Hi ^^ thanks for replying!
Because he smells! And I didn't have the time to cut his hair and now he's a mess! Thought I'd better give him a quick wash but since the weather's so cold over here I thought I'd better use dry shampoo
I wasn't planning on using the shampoo tho...just asking 😂
I've heard there are some sort of special dry shampoos for guinea pigs, is that true? If yes I'd like to buy one but I'm not sure if I can find it in my area :(

Thank you all for answering my question 😍 I won't do anything to hurt the piggie promise 😂

Where you are, the best shampoo is a baby shampoo without additives if your boy is very soiled and stinky. ;)
Ideally you cut off what you can in terms of badly soiled and matted hair and then gently wash the rest.
