Bathing a guinea pig

Hello, so yesterday I received 2 guinea pigs a gifts and I wanted to give them baths. I've read your only really suppose to use rabbit or guinea pig shampoo but I was wondering if Aveeno daily moisturizing body wash would be safe because I use it for my hedgehogs although they are very different animals. If not what would be the best shampoo?

Guinea pigs do not need regular bathing. They only need bathing if they are dirty. If you need to bathe them please use a specialist small animal shampoo or a shampoo from Gorgeous Guineas.

I agree with Vicki. Mine have had baths/dips when I had a ringworm outbreak but other than that the male has a clean of his downstairs "outey" which causes him to wee on himself. I use diluted hibiscrub with cotton pads for this. The girls occasionally need a bum wash but most of the times they are fine. I have owned guinea pigs in the past who have never had baths

Mine only had baths when they had mite about 18 months ago. Betsy has a bum bath occasionally as she has long hair and gets matted around her bum.
