Dignified Sir George has had an average weight of 1280g for most of his adult life. Recently he crept up to 1344g when being treated for a UTI but over the last two weeks has now dropped back down to 1290g. He's back on weekly weight checks and had no issues with the antibiotics. So technically a 54g weight loss but I feel like I should be using his old average weight as a baseline?
He had a thorough check up at the vet including his back teeth. He's eating, drinking and is showing no signs of anything wrong. In fact he's perkier than he has been for quite a while, so I suspect he was hiding his UTI symptoms.
So do I need to start support feeds or go by average weight and just keep an eye on him?

I think you’re doing the right thing by being cautious and keeping a closer eye on him. But it sounds like he’s doing ok. 👍🏻

I’d go by his average and keep an eye.
I wouldn’t start support feeding at this point based on what you have said. (If he was to drop 50g below his regular normal then that is different).
