iv noticed bailey has been barbering his front legs :( I'm wondering if it could boredom so i gave him a couple of cat balls to play with but hes not interested (he used to love chucking them about) i dont know what else to give him, or what i can do to stop him

any ideas ?

Rhona xx

Could he be a bit itchy do you think love?
Maybe a bath might help :-\
I know Lez has had a similar problem with Munchie and his bald spots, she also is sure that he started chewing and then it became a habit... you could ask her what she's done i'm sure she wont mind O0
Good luck with little Bailey :smitten:

the skin doesnt look sore or flakey just bald. I have some cream i could put on it, i dont really want to put him in the bath while his chest is crackly unless i just wash his little legs ;D

oh dear has he got an URI ?
You're right i wouldn't give him a bath either if he's at all unwell and you don't want him to catch cold :( :(
pm one of the mods and ask there advice love O0

if the vet cant work out what it is, chrissie from gorgeous guineas sent me some links to look at, as she agreed it could be behavioural. my munchies bald patches are most likely behavioural. i tried all treatments available and nothing has worked. he chews his front legs and under his arms, so he has huge bald patches, hes has them for well over 2 months now.

if the vet doesnt find out what it is or any treatment doesnt work, i can send you the links, to look at?

i mean the bald patches not the crackly chest btw ;D

my vet wanted to give munchie a biopsy to find more answers but i didnt want to put him through more upset, and chrissie agreed i shouldnt go down the biopsy route
