Sorry I've been absent so much, I've been at the cottage and our internet access is much more limited when I'm there! Just a quick behavior question about barbering. During the past two weeks of vacation, Sundae has managed to 'trim' Hadley's skirt for her quite nicely. Especially when they were grazing out on the lawn, Sundae was making an obvious effort to barber as much fur as possible. I've really never run into this before... Sundae has had long-haired companions for her entire life, as Linney also had a long skirt, but has never tried to barber either of them before. I know it can be a dominance thing, but Sundae is normally so submissive! Hadley is the dominant pig, but she's not nearly as bossy as Linney was, so maybe Sundae has secretly longed to chew that long fur all her life but Linney would never let her get away with it! Anyway, what does this mean all of a sudden? Anything I can do to prevent or curb it?

At least it decided for me whether I should cut back Hadley's fur... I was struggling to leave it long and keep it clean, but that obviously isn't an issue anymore so we have given her a haircut to even up the one Sundae already gave her!

Hi Freela :) Hope the time away in the cottage has been lovely and relaxing.

Nothing much you can do about it unfortunately, sometimes it stops as quick as it starts.... Piggy Hairdressers eh! It may be a bit of a dominance thing maybe if in a strong season but other than that hopefully just a one off... you can't really stop them from doing it. Maybe you could send Sundae over to the UK to 'trim' Vimto?

My kids spent the holiday continually yelling, "Mom, Sundae is eating Hadley again!" It seemed to take place mainly outdoors... maybe the change of season will help! LOL!
