Bamboo Wood?

Hello! I was wondering if bamboo wood is safe for guinea pigs to chew on. I've looked in so many places but I cannot find anything on bamboo wood and guinea pigs! I was just wondering if I could, let's say, build a bamboo wood house for my piggies? Would it be safe for them to chew on the wood?

I'm not sure that it would be the best thing to use, new shoots of bamboo can be toxic and older woody stems tend to splinter.

Willow or hazel would be more appropriate choices.
