Hello, my piggy pepper has recently developed a bald patch with raised red bumps on her lower back : IMG_5132.webp
We are calling first thing tomorrow morning to book her in. Just wondering if anyone has any advice on what this could be. She is not scratching it and doesn't seem agitated when I touch it. I was thinking it could be mites but not too sure.

Any advice you could give me would be much appreciated, Thanks.

It could very much be mites or mange mites. Good that you are taking her to the vets
Yes, she will be taken in tomorrow. It can only have come recently as she is cuddled daily and had her claws clipped the other day and i have only just noticed it

Difficult to say - it could be mites of some sort or self-barbering if the area underneath is painful. It doesn't look like fungal to me as there doesn't seem to be the typical white crust.

Good that you have her seen by a vet; it needs a hands-on examination. All we can do is guess as much you!

Thanks, I haven't noticed her barbering at all, she doesn't seem in pain when I touch it. There is definitely no crust on it. Will be taking her to the vet today, hopefully they will know what it is.
