Hi everyone,

I just wanted to ask if anyone has every come across similar balding spots under their
Guinea pig chins?
My two males Seem to both have one each.
I have checked them over everywhere else and can’t see any other bald patches anywhere else.

I agree, I would get a vet to check this out, looks a bit rough and scabby to me. Welcome to the forum 🙂

Just make sure it's a Guinea pig knowledgeable vet, not a cat and dog and sometimes rabbit vet 🙂

You can find a list of good vets here: Recommended Guinea Pig Vets The patches do look a bit suspicious and with both of them having it, I definitely think it needs investigating. Let us know how they get on.

One more thing; it would be really helpful if you could add your location to your details as it can help members provide advice.

:wel: to the forum!

I am a qualified Veterinary nurse so I have spoken with my vets at work about them and showed the pictures.
I’m we thought we would ask some experience pig owners before causing any stress to them with having to coming in and have skin scrapes etc

I agree they are suspicious also! I’m happy to not be concerned about cheyleytellia however I am concerned about possible ring worm 👀
I’m going to take home a wood light tonight ☺️
