a few weeks ago my guinea pig had a little crusty part on his nose so i wiped it off and now i noticed he has a tiny little spot without hair on his nose and i’m worried. i don’t know what the crusty thing was that i wiped off but i do know that i did it really gently so it wouldn’t get irritated but now the hair from that area and no where else is gone. help!
(also i’m holding him really gently, he’s just a thicc boy so it looks like i’m squeezing him)

I would potentially get him checked out given you say he had a crust on his nose.

Hi

Unfortunately, we cannot tell you what is going on just from those fuzzy photos and not knowing what you actually wiped off.

Has the bald spot been there since you wiped whatever it was off or is it new? It can either be from something stuck to the hair (like boar glue, i.e. dried semen fluid) that has been ripped off or the start of a fungal infection (potentially ringworm) but that is as far as we can go.

Please see a vet if the bald spot gets larger over the coming days. More information in these guide links here:
