I just recently noticed a bald spot on my guinea pigs hand. It is around almost a centimeter wide. Any idea what this could be?

Hi

Guinea pigs use their paws to clean themselves by spreading mildly antibiotic saliva over their coats several times a day. Over time this causes mechanical abrasion. These bald spots are usually on the sides of the ankles/shins on both feet and not on top of just one paw.

Unfortunately, without a picture or other access to your piggy we cannot tell you whether this is the case with your piggy or not. You can best upload any - preferably clear - pictures via the Attach files under your post when you write it.

Piggies do have bald spots on the side of both front paws. I hope this is what you are describing 🤞🏻
