Noticed a small mark on my newest guinea pig's nose, now it has developed to a bald patch. It seems to be bleeding slightly so I think it might be a scratch, possibly from his partner as they are fairly newly bonded. Would you say this is an injury or a skin infection?20221210_131656.webp

It really is impossible to say, and does need a proper hands on examination.
Please make an appointment to have him seen by a vet as it could be an injury from a fight or some form of skin infection.
It is best not to try and treat the wound yourself until you see the vet as this may mask symptoms and make an accurate diagnosis harder.

If you haven't had him long then both of those are a definite possibility.
Where did you get him from and how long have your pigs been together?

I would also be weighing him regular to make sure he is eating enough.

I’d definitely get that seen by the vet. I’ve had piggies with mites that looked like that. I had another piggy with something that looked like that and it spread really quickly. It could also just be a bite from his friend.

Good luck. I hope it’s something easily treatable.
