Our three month old guinea big developed a bald patch above nose a three days ago. It was very small but in the last 24 hours has got larger. No redness. Does this sound like a fungal/ringworm infection

We can only guess but there is the potential for it to be ringworm
Please have your piggy seen by a vet for the correct diagnosis and treatment. In the meantime, exercise good hygiene, and if you can, get hold of some F10 disinfectant to clean the cage and equipment, wash bedding etc

Hi!

Please see a vet for a diagnosis. We cannot even guess just from your words.

If it comes back with ringworm, you can reclaim the veyt fee from the place you have got your guinea pigs from if this has happened within 2-3 week of purchase.

I posted this as we couldn't get to vet straight away. We went to the vet this morning and ringworm has been confirmed.

Please follow the detailed advice in our ringworm hygiene guide. Ringworm spores invisible but very long lived and highly contagious to humans and other pet species. But if you follow our recommendations you can get past it without turning it into an endless saga.
Your best friend and most valuable investment is F10 disinfectant!
