Hello! I have been off of here for a good amount of time, and I am sure many of you who remember me shall be relieved to find that I have been working a lot on my pet anxiety and thinking logically before getting all worried about an illness and whatnot. Unfortunately, I have come back for a not-so-good reason. A few, actually. I will start with the most recent one- the well-known URI. The girls have been free of URI since October, which I am so grateful. I truly thought that the URIs were finally over, since removing that drippy water bottle my anxiety has gone very low about it. However, about two days ago, I noticed quite a bit of sneezing, hard sneezes from Pumpkin especially. I kept an eye on it, but made sure to stay calm. Yesterday however, I was massaging Popcorn's tummy (which is my second subject) when she sneezed twice on my hand. I felt something go on my hands from the sneeze, and lifted my hand to find a tiny patch of mucus (it was not pigmented green or yellow, just a bit of a milky white with maybe a green/yellow tint but I can't confirm it fully since I have forgotten a bit). Today goes by, and the sneezing is a lot. The biggest moment was very recent where there was a large amount of audible crackling coming from Popcorn during her massage (which i confirmed are not the sound of gases). I later held up Pumpkin to my ear and I heard bits of crackling as well. The vets are closed right now because it's late but I am not even sure if they will be open tomorrow since of the coronavirus. The only thing we have right now is bactrim (they gave it to us last month on accident instead of cisapride, but we couldn't return it). We got the bactrim on february 5th 2020. Is it still good to give them meanwhile till we can get to the vet? Thanks.
the second thing I wanted to talk about is about Popcorn's gases. Popcorn has had gas issues since she was 2 years old, she's very sensitive to vegetables and will get a gas episode if she eats even a little bit more veggies than usual. For context, her gases have never been bloat, although more recent ones have gotten quite severe. The gas episode she had before the one she is currently in was very crazy. I think I have a post about it but basically they lasted for around two months I believe, and every time she was gas free and we tried to give her vegetables slowly, it would restart all over(that vegetable thing went on about three times before we were advised on here to stop introducing cucumber and lettuce first and to try with cilantro instead). She finally healed but now its back. For all past episodes, I can point to the trigger and realize I gave a bit more veggies than usual on accident, or if I gave more gassy vegetables recently. However with this one, I still am not fully sure what caused it my best guess is gassy vegetables. This one has gone on for months, I believe close to three. We have been doing everything: she's off of vegetables (we give a singular, tiny cilantro piece to her once every night cause it's too heartbreaking seeing her get excited about veggies only to not get them), she's been getting cisapride almost daily, we've been giving her a 20 minute massage daily, benebac, critical care, and she still has the gases! I have been stressing so much about them, they just don't seen to be going away. Any helpful advice?
-I'm sorry for the long post, thank you all for helping
