Back to work tomorrow morning, not looking forward to it after nearly two weeks off...at the moment I would rather loaf here for ever! Work and home life have been challenging for me lately but it's been lovely to relax over Christmas and New Year.

To anyone getting ready to go back to work, or facing tricky circumstances, remember, you are enough, and you've got this 👍

I'm back on Wednesday and can't wait. I finished on the 18th Dec and have enjoyed the time off but far too much time with extended family, an overwhelmed toddler who is getting emotional and you know what... I can't wait for some routine back

I hope your return to work isn't too hard. You're not alone, I also went back today after two weeks off. I miss the free time but I'm also kind of happy to get back to my routine (time off in December typically means a lot of cooking, washing and cleaning...).
At least, I'll miss the fireworks at home (one of my piggies is in season, and things are... noisy. 🤣 Hopefully, by the time I get back home, she'll have settled down a little.)

I feel your pain! It's not that I mind my job, it's the travelling 80 miles a day on the motorways (with the horrendous traffic) that I didn't want to go back to :( I do feel I need a better work-life balance, as I've loved nothing more than some more time with my family over the holidays. I'm sure I'll figure it all out!

I can understand that, we are all different and need different things to maintain our sanity. I hope you and your toddler settle quickly back into non-holiday routine.

@Lizabel I hope your first day back at work has gone well. I wish you all the best for 2023 and hope it is less challenging for you than things have been in the past x
Thank you x
Work has been good so far, in the office for two days and at home today so a nice split, and I'm taking positive steps to address some of the other things.

I like routine normally but I was in the mood to wallow for longer...The guinea pigs have had extra kisses and cuddles to make me feel better but I'm not sure they share the sentiment! I hope your first week back is going well and that home is quietening down.

I couldn't do your job - I like driving, but not that much! My employer is promoting work-life balance and self-care at the moment and we are told regularly to look after ourselves and take advantage of smarter/flexible working policies. Do you have options like that? If you can shift the balance, even if it's only slight, it could make a huge difference.

Thank you for your reply :)

We do have a flexible working policy, but due to the demands of teaching, they wouldn’t let me move my hours around. The only other option would be to ask to reduce hours. I’m aiming for this soon. I have two businesses, and as the second one continues to grow, I’m hoping to be able to reduce hours at my full time job 🤞🏻😊
